I see a lot of restaurant has 18% as the lowest option now! Have to manually enter while they look and wait

For coffee or takeout, I aim for 0%. Dining in restaurant, 40-50% if the bill is under $100. If over, 30%.

A&M1: generosity is its own reward. Many servers remember the beau geste that is a good tip. I can’t tell you the number of times servers have subsequently gone above and beyond to express gratitude for past generosity. Recently I was out celebrating but the establishment I was in had an inferior sparkling wine menu. The server knowing I’m an oenophile jogged down to the LCBO down the street to snag a bottle of Veuve Cliquot for me and only charged cost plus a $20 corkage fee. I honestly doubt this was standard practice.

At a sit-down restaurant, I tip18-20%.
If it’s take-out or grab-and-go coffee, it’s 0%.

😮

15-18% for sit down restaurant, 0 for take out / coffee.

Evening! Dog owners who live in condo rentals downtown.. did you tell your landlord you had a dog? I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.
