What games do you play on your work computer? I play this really fun game on my work computer where you feed eggs to a egg guy but you sometimes have to buy new eggs and sometimes it messes up your score. When you win the egg guy does a really cool thing I won't spoil it.

You’re very silly

No games on work computers, ever. Our laptops are locked down such that nothing can be installed without admin access.

I Fd up once when I was a manager about 13 years ago. I started a mobile game during a long and boring conference call. The host heard the startup jingle and asked who was playing during their meeting. Of course I never confessed.

That's why Ill only ever use a Windows XP system, totally uncalled for for them to remove access to spider solitaire.

I like drawing in PowerPoint.

I play that game, and sometimes during lunch break my friends and I go to this fancy restaurant and order steaks and water. We dump the water onto the steaks. They say we’re not allowed but they can’t stop you from ordering a steak and a water.

I thought games on work computers died out with smartphones.

Like they could put any game on a phone more fun than minesweeper

I play chess because I figured if I ever got flagged for it, I could say I was trying to get smarter so I can be a better tax accountant

No games but I have YouTube on sometimes while working :)

I love Charlie Bit My Finger on the YouTube

funny

Don’t think there are games on them anymore. If there is it’s probably solitaire, minesweeper or something like that. The only time I’ve ever done it was if the system was down and we couldn’t do any work at all. There was one that gave us permission to do it once many years ago otherwise we would’ve been sitting there doing absolutely nothing.

Some recruiter in Accenture lined me up for an interview for a role which was not in my skillset ( by saying that this is just an evaluation exercise and they will map me to the right role) and obviously I got rejected. Now I see that I am not eligible to apply the role which I was targeting for the next 6 months. Any idea how can I get this escalated so that the recruiter ( Accenture employee) should at least be careful in future before fooling a noob like me?

I have an idea for a web+mobile based platform

I’ve done market sizing, know exactly what it is and how it’ll work, and even have verbal seed funding offers.

But I can’t code.

What do I do next and how do I protect my idea from being stolen?

Hi all, How do you deal with having a good relationship with an ex-colleague, and then that person switches jobs, becomes a hiring manager, is hiring for a position you’re perfect for (experience + credentials) and then you reach out to them saying you’re interested and why it would be a good idea - and then they completely ghost you..I also sent an application via the website and got rejected. I am really always trying to help out old coworkwrs with getting jobs, but this is just frustrating 🥲

Received an offer at 300k/year and a Google offer at 200k/year.
I wanted Google since I started the whole interview process, but I am now not sure given the salary difference.

The position at Google is more junior and the team is just being formed, which involves more risk. However, I like the team at the other company.

The difference in salary is really considerable to push me to rethink this. Is it worth it? Can you share your experiences of when you accepted a lower job offer and why?

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

I am sharing this to tell you that no matter what you’re feeling right now, it won’t last. Even the happiness I feel right now, I’ve had that stripped from me multiple times. That is LIFE. We have the good and the bad.

Hang in there if times are bad. If things are good, prepare to lose it too.
