Hi there, I have 3.5 YOE working for NHS Finance. I applied to Deloitte Risk Advisory, Public Sector (London, UK) and was successful. Waiting to hear back with package offer but it’s been over 2 weeks - was told they may offer M2 grade, any ideas what this is?
I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.
What’s the WLB like? Good job security?

My kids are too young to work, but I work full time and drive them to and from school. Does that count?
Haha oops! I meant school!
Yes! My kids regularly get to be part of my conference calls on the way to and from school school! Way more common than it used to be, I couldn’t have pulled this off pre-pandemic
I have several employees with kids in school and after school sports/jobs. I trust the employees to do what they need to do to be a good parent and also be a good colleague. Sometimes that means being offline 3-4pm and working a bit later/earlier in the day to compensate - whatever works for them.
Every day. Wouldn't miss it for a thing.
3 kids. Have done it for all of them for 95% of their schooling years.
I don't have kids but I work a full time job, have freelance clients, teach online classes and have time to go for walks with my dog. Sometimes even meet with friends... Does that count? Haha
Absolutely! Essentially wondering how much flexibility is typical. And if asking to drive my kids to school during work hours would be a big ask when starting a new job…. Sounds like you have flexibility which is so great to hear!
Yes! If anything good came out of the pandemic, it was WFH and the better work-life balance/flexibility that my company now fully supports.
I WFH so am able to drive them to school and pick up tho on days I have calls during pick up i either 1. Take from car if i am not presenting 2. Ask my daughter to go to a friends until I can pick her up. It’s such a juggle but I am so grateful I am able to do it!
Got two kids and I’m the primary parent. I have an agreement with my boss that I have strict work hours of pick up and drop off time , along with the knowledge of appts, etc. It’s extremely common these days especially with the WFH lifestyle that’s available. WFH has been a life saver for me on actually NOT missing more time off
I do the drop off because it is at 7:50 and can still get to work by 9am. My husband does the pick up at 3pm, but he changed his hours to do that. They do have after school care, so you can pick up later like 6pm. Our school is also about 5 minutes away from our house. There is also the bus. Once they get to high school, it will likely be the bus for them.

I get my kids (2nd grade and Kindergarten) on the bus in the mornings (bus comes around 8:45), and then pick them up from aftercare at their school around 5:30. With WFH, it really wouldn’t be a big deal to have them come home earlier (school gets out at 4 pm), but aftercare is fun for them so we’ve kept it.
