Thought this was a great article.

I suffer from a bipolar disorder and had been in remission for 18 months subsequent to a years long and at times suicidal depression before my divorce. Recently I had a manic relapse brought on by some extreme stress from an issue involving my kids and their split custody with my toxic ex wife. I was able to push through the episode at work but had an interaction over the phone with a particularly difficult client that I am thankful ended when it did since I was on the verge of either breaking down crying or screaming at the client both of which would have been catastrophic.

I would love to be able to share my condition with my mentors and set up a safety net for this type of situation should it happen again, but fear the stigma and potential impact to my further advancement with firm despite mental illness being a protected class.

We have a lot of work to do in this area and this article does a great job highlighting this concern.

Thank you for sharing. I’ve had my share of mental health and addiction issues (4.5 years sober), and never felt like I could bring any of them up at work, even though I really could have used some support at the time.

I think we’re starting to talk more about mental health issues, but I still haven’t seen much around substance abuse which has to be a problem for many people too.

Hi,

Just started a new job less than a month ago in the tech sector. It was the industry I was fixated on when leaving for. However I realise that I don't think I can cope with the fast paced, lack of wlb, with no support - it's really impacting my mental health already....

I try to hide it from my boyfriend, but its impact is flowing into my personal life.
I feel like a failure, but recognise it might be beneficial to cut loss and quit. Has anyone been in this situation?

Any advice?

Advice and tips for a first time rental property investor?

I am 24 saving up for my first property to purchase at the end of 2021 / early 2022 in the Long Island, NY area.

I’d like to save up around $50K in my HYSA for a property <$400K in LI. Does this sound reasonable?

Does anyone have any advice on investing in the LI area (best location, SFH v MFH) or just general first time rental property buying advice?

Thanks all

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

Do I irreversibly shoot my career by joining and immediately going on LoA? I obviously haven’t mentioned it in the interview process. Or will this be forgotten a couple years in?
