I haven't heard anything about a full remote option. Just client need based. We did receive a email requiring a mandatory survey about our vaccination status so probably some announcement soon.
New boss will be same as the old boss.. I see us going back to something close to the old model, maybe a higher acceptance of 3-1 and on/off schedules but travel will be required. I'm on a project now that's pretty much gone back to full time.. Why? Because other companies are doing it. Project is currently staffed with 3 other firms in various capacities.. As soon as one started going in the suggestions from on high that we have a presence started rolling in. As much as we like to argue we are a results oriented manufacturer of value, therefore can do our jobs anywhere as long as we are productive , we are more sales and service than we'd like to admit. There is no substitution for in person rapport and conversation when it comes to establishing a presence at a client.
A4, travel isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. Until the past 18 months I traveled constantly for ACN. You basically get to see the client site, the hotel, the airport, and whatever food places you can find.
Only if the clients choose to staff the work as fully remote. Read what A2 wrote. ACN will never dictate the location terms to the client. And neither will any other consultancy, despite what BS they may tell their employees to make them feel better in the short run.
The clients pay the bills. If they are willing to pay for travel and they want us there, we will be traveling. If they say they’re OK with people working remote, then that’s what will do. If they are open to some hybrid model, that’s fine also. Anyone who tells their people, they guarantee WFH, is either lying or talking about internal roles.
