You have to listen to your body and what it does well with. I have met people who did phenomenal with paleo, others who went vegan and others who went chickentarian. Your body does change overtime so checking in with your body to see if what you are doing is still working will be part of the process. I was strict paleo for a long time and at some point I had to add in more carbs than what is allowed i.e. white potatoes. But in general follow some basic tenants of paleo. Good luck!
Like any other diet, I think it comes down to personal preference. If it works for you and helps you hit your goals, great! I did something similar about 8 years ago, and then I did a 180 and went vegetarian. I was able to successfully get in shape doing both.
It is not for me, but understand that everyone is different! Same feeling I had when I first heard of intermittent fasting or the OMAD, not for me, yet tons of people have had success and accomplished what they wanted to. I have been paying a lot more attention to my macros, and yikes, protein was falling short so I can understand the need to focus on other things.
I stay away from anything that seems extreme or one-sided (well, in dieting, lol). I think our bodies have evolved to eat a variety of things, and I always try to give myself a mix of meat and vegetables and fruit. I eat meat, and I think I eat enough as it is. I think sticking to that exclusively would be a bad idea.
that wouldn't work for me as much as i love meat–i need veggies + grains w/ my meals. also Caribbean so there's that.
