Pretty generous in terms of hotels. Westin is generally fine. Per diem for all meals unless client mandates actuals/sets limits.
Separately, the firm just had a second round of layoffs in less than 3 months. If you’re looking to join, I’d be certain your practice is 100% safe. I’m coming from a practice that just lost 25% of its team nationally, including cutting out PPMDs and eliminating entire offices for our practice

Ritz seems a bit much in my opinion.
Agreed with all points by GT1. Pretty generous. Standard per diem rates.
Accountants travel too?
At a policy level, I would say it’s comparable with other firms. But policy and reality are 2 different things. Generally the client base is Russell2000 and the firm partners have just been introduced to advisory culture. The accounting mindset of “stayed at holiday inn express” makes you standout and partners (basically glorified accountants) give you subtle hints. Just setting expectations
I've heard of clients in advisory who want people onsite but won't pay for the travel. W and Ritz are category 6-8 in Marriott and they are not allowed. Westin and Renaissance are all good.
We’re asked to be mindful of expenses for hotels, but every partner & manager I know has an understanding that if you travel, you should not forego comfort just to save a couple bucks... Ritz is a no go, but Marriott internationals, Westin, Renaissance in some cases is fine. Per diems for meals - I never use it all and usually walk away every week with some extra non -taxed “income"
In some cases? 🧐
