What is the best/ most appropriate way to connect with a recruiter on LinkedIn? I don’t want to come across as too forward since I’m still at my current job. This is my first time doing anything of the sort since I’ve been with the same broker my entire working life and through several promotions.

I’m also not sure if I should do it since I’ve already applied for a job on their site, and only learned the tip about approaching recruiters after 😅

Base salary: 60k
Quarterly quota (per quarter): 107k
Quarterly bonus (per annum): 23k
130% Annual bonus = 11.5k
"23% commission on quota minus base": 37k (don't understand this)
"Proposed 23% commission on 150% quota minus base": 86.5k
Sales commission threshold per month: 22k
OTE: 122k
Cost/Sales: 28%

That base salary is lower than my previous base by a significant amount by 32.7%

Upon reading the job description, it’s clear I will be doing a lot of sales and client consulting over actually coding. I know they have a FE SWE role open. How would you approach asking the recruiter if there are any SWE openings I could be considered for instead ?
