What is the highest signing bonus you’ve seen an experienced hire consultant/manager negotiate? Would any MBB/T2 firms offset foregone tuition reimbursement?

I like my current job, company and public accounting. I know I am being underpaid at $70k as a senior tax associate with 2-3 years of experience as I have talked with my local peers as well as local recruiters. Also, I know outside hires to my company get paid about $5-$10k higher than me, but they don’t get a raise the following year. My question is what is everyone’s experience with company hopping to get a pay bump within public accounting?

I dated my ex for about 4 years and before we broke up we had moved in together. We lived together for about 6 months before breaking up. I kept the apartment and she moved out. Is this something I should tell my current girlfriend without it coming up naturally? She has told me she doesn’t care about what happened in my past relationships and that she is happy to talk about them but that we don’t need to. Friend of mine was supposed to receive an offer (told verbally) from Deloitte and then just found out they are pausing on hiring the role. How common is that? Seems wildly unprofessional that none of the partners called and instead it was the recruiter conveying that news. At McKinsey, if that happened, the head of the practice or the office would personally make the phone call at the very least.
