Quitting a minimum wage job that doesn’t suit your schedule isn’t absurd
I wish I had taken the literal high schooler's advice on my last job at ID.ME I severely regret twisting myself into a pretzel to try to make their absurd schedule work. I will never do that again.
My sister in law, working in Florida as a waitress, would work until a holiday and if she couldn’t get it off she would quit and go home to Va. then go back to Florida and find another place to work until the next holiday.
She must've been late for her job and that's why they asked her to wake up earlier.

Knowing my friend...probably haha
I remember getting a summer job at Coldstone when I was 19. Had a really informal interview (no application or anything; just a walk in - I don't even think they took down my information), and was invited back to join the orientation a few days later. I got there, and the rest of the summer help were all 3-4 years younger than me and clearly all already knew one another. I very quickly decided I didn't want to spend my summer wrapped up in high school drama, so I just left the orientation before it started and found another job. 😂

I did the same thing at a lifeguarding job once lol. I just felt awkward and it wasn't worth the $7.50 an hour they were paying haha.
I quit 3 days after starting a job as a loan processor because I realized that nearly the ENTIRE staff was “recovering” addicts…..I use “quotes” because people were smoking meth in the bathroom…during the first morning meeting the owner of the company had SSSOO much energy, and if someone wasn’t there at the meeting, he would call them on speaker phone, cuss them out, insult them, then since they missed the Monday meeting he would suspend them till the next week….ive never held a job where I could so easily foresee the FBI raiding the office soooo clearly…..I went home and never came back

I quit a job because I didn't want to work December 31, 1999. Still stand behind that decision! I did give 3 weeks notice :)
Usually because it meant reporting to a twink of a human.

Her manager was 5 months older and thought it was a big deal. Teenagers behaving like teenagers (which, at least is better than adults behaving like teens! These two grew out of it.)
Back then, I could not hold on even to a minimum wage job because of some circumstances. I fixed the issue already since then. Your friend just needs to find something she really loves to do.
