Yes, I know about the additional independence requirements and extra week of pto
And extra work.
Beyond the snark, I don't think so.
More work, more scrutiny, small raise. Basically the best benefit is your exit options just improved drastically.
Same q- is there anything at all to look forward to ?
Raise sucks
You get invited to more stuff, more leeway to spend firm money on events (though still no approval authority), often no boss on site
You get to sell all your favorite stocks to meet independence requirements
What exit options though? I left industry to join consulting, and I have no great desire to go back.
Because the title more likely maps to a sr manager or director role at most clients, whereas SCs wouldn't be considered for those roles as easily...
Bragging rights
Better exit ops.
Big raise, maybe?
Money?
Raise was less than 10%.
@d3 - ugh, what's the point then?
10% raise senior to manager, unless you were making $130k go get another offer and ask for more.
M3, I was making more than that.
More responsibility, higher expectations, cooler roles, less grunt work, one step closer to PPD, more PTO, more flexibility to set your own schedule... a little bit more money and a bit more AIP... and yeah, more interesting exit options
Humor me: why are the exit ops stronger at mgr than sc?
