1) People fund the business
2) People buy products from it
3) People share profits if there are some.

2) Increase employment in country

I’ve worked at places that all have different holiday policies. EA has at minimum a nice 10 day shutdown from Christmas Eve through New Years. It’s great to know that there will be no slack messages or an exploded inbox to come back to while away. I’ve been at other studios that only give you Christmas Eve & Day and New Years Eve & Day and then the rest is up to you to request for PTO and this is obviously the suck.

What did your transition from AE to editor look like?

5 months ago I joined an advertising post house as a full-time AE. Through the support of a lead editor at the company I found my way into making cuts for the company’s most prestigious client. At this point, I’ve been the sole editor of one global campaign and a co-editor of another, in addition to cutting many social media videos. It’s only 5 months but I can’t help feel that my title doesn’t reflect the work I actually do.

I recently went freelance as an EP and started my own LLC as well (to get the full benefits of being a freelancer). Some agencies and clients want to pay on a W2 versus 1099 / as an independent contractor. Should I still take the gig if W2 or stand my ground and pass?

I am booked at an agency that is filled with toxic people and I got offered a freelance job at a really great agency. I am two weeks into a four week booking but they said that usually keep freelancers on for a really long time. Right now I am only working on edits. Do you all think it would be OK to tell the agency that I’m currently at that I’m going to leave for another booking or is that really bad?

I’ve been working with a founder/small biz freelancing as their digital producer for a little bit. I’m having issues lately because they won’t give me a budget for content they want to make for their site/Instagram. I’m worried with the budget gate keeping that we’re going to burn bridges with contacts, especially now that we’re dipping into my personal contacts for content collaboration. Is this normal? How do I get them to give me a budget to work from?
