Honestly, my phone, music, and lack of sleep. Also, not having a defined direction to go to succeed, but more of a general ish direction.
Difined direction, timing ,support?
On my first I lost out on USD 60 mil cause my nerd got a GF (never saw that coming), but jokes aside we failed cause I didn't hold my team accountable.
For my second, new emerging technologies made my product redundant, missing out on a potential of about $20 mil (Based on an external evaluation). The lesson is, that being too focused on your project means you might not see the changes in the market.
Lastly and most recently, I had a full team to build a platform, Devs, UX/UI Designers, and Partners and that failed cause of social and political situations. This one, well sometimes things just go wrong that are beyond your control and you lose absolutely everything.
But, and this is the biggest one! You don't want it hard enough. "Burnouts" become BS if you have the right mindset, if you have the right reason for pushing yourself. It's easy to keep moving if you already have the momentum, but starting from scratch is incredibly painful if you lose everything in a fire and you have nothing to show for all the work and time you put into it.
as the saying goes; "we all wanna be in heaven but nobody wants to die to get there" (This is a metaphor)
