What role do you feel we as veterinarians play in the community? Would you consider it a noble service?

Of course it is. Pets are considered family members. They are so valuable for others especially those who can't have children and just chose to get pets to alleviate the longing.

Veterinarians play a crucial role in the community as they are responsible for the health and well-being of animals. They are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions in animals, from routine check-ups to emergency care.

In addition to providing medical care, veterinarians also play a key role in public health by monitoring and controlling diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans. They may also work with local animal welfare organizations to address issues related to animal abuse, neglect, and overpopulation.

Overall, the work that veterinarians do can be considered a noble service, as they are dedicated to caring for animals and improving the health and well-being of both animals and humans. The veterinary profession requires a significant amount of education and training, and veterinarians are often called upon to work in challenging and emotionally charged situations. However, many veterinarians find the work to be extremely rewarding, as they are able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their human caregivers.

Veterinarians help protect public health by monitoring for and controlling diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans, like rabies and Lyme disease. So yes, I consider it a noble service.

Veterinarians play a critical role in ensuring the safety of the food supply by monitoring and regulating the health and welfare of food-producing animals.

Our work as veterinarians is indeed a noble service, as we dedicate our time and expertise to improving the health and well-being of animals and the communities in which we live.

I guess you could say it's a noble service. Veterinarians play an important role in protecting public health, as many diseases that affect animals can also be transmitted to humans.

Our job is critical to the health and well-being of both animals and humans, making it a genuinely noble service.

Veterinarians play a vital role in the health and well-being of not only animals, but also the community. We provide preventive and medical care for animals, assist in the promotion of animal welfare, and serve as an important source of advice and education for pet owners.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!

I’m a very experienced veterinary assistant who has been doing this job for about 4 years in total however because of my skill level I would say I am more of an unlicensed technician. I’m looking for input on what I should ask for a raise. I need help. I think I’m being underpaid at my job I’ve been at for 3 1/2 years. I’m a full time receptionist for a veterinary hospital but I also manage the reception area (I answer all questions and if someone makes a mistake I’m the one the fix it) and am an in house trained veterinary assistant but can do a techs job (unlicensed) and I do help the technicians out anytime they need and I’m only getting paid $13 an hour while a crew member at arbys gets paid $15 . What should I do ?
