Hi - fellow aquiree here
Year 1 - likely won’t feel any different. You’ll likely be ring fenced and able to do everything the way you have done in the past. You’ll start to use Accenture systems and what not but you’ll be in a bubble for a little bit
Year 2 - you’ll start to integrate and become accenturized. You’ll start to conform to Accenture processes and goals which may in turn change how you go to market, what type
Of work makes sense, etc
Year 3+ you’ll be fully part of the Accenture machine
Prepare to be assimilated.
All kidding aside - we were acquired in 2022. There was a lot of transition support which really helped. The biggest challenge was figuring out who’s who in the zoo - we had all these business groups (MS, Oracle, Salesforce etc) coming out of the word work at us before we could figure out which way was up. If you are in a management level role invest some time in learning our sales and delivery tools. It will save you heartache later.
Insert that RUN gif!
Accenture 5
Do the required but leave as soon as you are vested
Is deloitte very different?
Get integrated into the larger firm as soon as possible, you will not win playing the small game.
You should expect no pay increases and possibly no bonuses.
Our firm was acquired a few years back
1. Initially it feels great since you’ll be part of a bigger machine and get to see a ton of trainings and other cool things
2. Reality hits after cutover when you HAVE to meet Accenture metrics like CCI, Chargeability etc. make sure you build a solid network within your firm and y’all band together. Identify synergies with Accenture practices and build long lasting friendships
3. Prioritize 3 things once part of Accenture Chargeability , submitting your time reports and expenses before cutoff , completing ethics and compliance trainings . Rest everything, treat it as bonus .
4. Network , network , network
5. Accenture won’t have the culture that smaller firms have . Don’t expect a family type culture. Just treat it as a job to be done and you’ll be much happier
I recommend watching Deliverance…
