When I returned from FMLA/maternity leave I wish I’d been more vigilant to get on people’s radars!
Don’t expect everyone to be prepared for your arrival, try to reach out to your HR, manager, and/or staffing lead if possible in the 2-3 weeks before returning to confirm your date and ask about staffing. Also ask about if you can ramp-on or if you need any accommodations, time away for appointments, or upcoming time off.
be gentle with yourself and I hope you can have a smooth transition back after leave :)
