What type of work do you mostly do? I'm trying to get more involved with the actual products and hands-on mechanical tasks, but I keep getting pulled into inspections, certificates, and procedure-related work—it's so boring. Is this just the nature of engineering?

I will possibly be getting a machinist role through some contacts, and I have no experience in the field and I’m wondering what I could expect to make, when I look up average salaries for a machinist position I see around 65k but that seems too good for my age and experience so I’m wondering what some others in the trade on here are making
