Customers are giving us bad experience ratings because we don’t offer them the solutions they want. Our company won’t allow us to offer those solutions, but the manager punishes us for low ratings anyway. I don’t get how they’re ok with that.

Customer service is not easy, serving customers who always want to be right.

It's obviously not your fault, but your workplace sounds like a mess

What do you mean they won't "allow" you? Like you know the answers but you're forbidden from sharing them?

I'm guessing they mean customers demand refunds or free product they can't be given. I work for a company that does something similar and it's infuriating.

Well you're manager seems a bit incompetent if he doesn't understand where the real issue lies here

Personally, I wouldn't put the blame for something like this on my employees. If one person is getting bad reviews, then they might be the problem but if EVERYONE is getting negative feedback that is more than likely a failure from the leadership

I'm glad to know there are some sensible managers out there. Hopefully I work for one like you some day lol

If you can, I would begin looking elsewhere and just leave if you can. It's hard to negotiate with someone who doesn't recognize that their methods may be an issue.

Ugh, I deal with this too. We get customers demanding refunds we can't give them and when they leave poor reviews, we get in trouble for "not trying hard enough to offer other solutions." We have no other solutions to offer them! There is no winning at some of these jobs.
