I've seen associates that came in after going back to school after working for a few years, then starting as associate and they deserved promotion after one year
Hahahaha, come on over to Pdubbs, the water's fine! You could be acting senior sometime in year 2, and paid senior by year 3.
They probably came in with prior experience
If they are a god child I would understand. Depends how much knowledge they have
Yea failure and a very stressful year, but you'll learn a hell of a lot faster if you just put in the extra hours and keep asking questions.
Some people are more than capable of doing it after a year especially with prior work experience. The job isn't rocket science and if you've managed a team before it's not hard to figure out.
What firm does that?
@ EY1 a small one prolly. Either that or the 1 year senior has some nuclear grade leverage somehow.
I've never seen it done before what firm are you seeing this at?
I haven't seen this either
This is true for all the GASB and FASB PTA's we hire. Unfortunately the lack of experience often shows but they don't see it. This has been true in my experience with the exception of one or two.
Medium size firm does that... I think is mostly because of staffing issues. When your seniors jump ship, you make up seniors... but it shows.
For people that deserve it or have experience, I'm all for early promotions. Otherwise... just setting ppl up for failure.
I was acting senior my second year as a staff but only out of necessity bc the old senior quit right before busy season and the office was understaffed
KPMG has promotions after one year. Usually to fill needs at senior.
Being a senior is easy peasy. I'm a manager after 3.5 years of PA.... This busy season was help as a first year manager
