What was everyone's first-ever job?

My first ever job was actually working at an after school program in my town with kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. It was never boring getting to work with all of the kids, I had a lot of fun working there and have a lot of great memories too!

Surf shop when I was 16 was my first 1040.

My first ever job was a server at a Chinese restaurant in this little bitty town of Nevada, MO. I lied and said I was 15 and got the job but I was only 14. I literally made like $2.25 an hour or something and I was lucky to make $10 a night in tips so I was defintiely getting way way underpaid. Gosh that place was awful and yet I would do it all again if I could. To be that young again.

Babysitting friends of the family's kids. I was 12, maybe 13 at the time watching an 18 month old and a 7 year old. Absolutely wild to me now. Did make some good money out of it though. Do you look back at how much responsibility you had at a younger age and think how crazy it was?

Detasseling corn. Yup. It’s a thing.

Focusing is not an issue for me once I’m locked in, but I’m struggling to get there because I haven’t finalized which idea to focus on. Open to any recommendations please (books, personal stories, etc).

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?
