What would you do if you went through 7+ hours of interviews and then at the end of the process were told a mistake was made in the compensation range you were originally told the role pays and it actually pays lower?

My SO just went through this and was upset as they felt their time was wasted for a role that couldn’t actually pay them what they would have left for.

The range was also included on the description. What would you do in this scenario?
