Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

You can check out suit supply - I haven’t had any issues with a suit I bought from them a year or two ago. I think I spent around $600 or so.
Somewhere between $800 and $1k for a quality designer suit off the rack from a place like Nordstrom’s.
Cost can be a little lower for a custom suit from Asia if you have the patience for that.
Considering I wear it daily, i think I can justify this. Just wanted to check myself as I didn’t want to forget where I am from. Didn’t want to start living above my means.

Charles Tyrwhitt has great deals, though the suits aren’t truly custom
I spend about $1k at brooks bros and less at bonobos; you do get what you pay for... also, it’s an investment not an indulgence IMO
I like Hugo Boss, often when they have a sale you can get for $500. Really nice fit and gets tailored in 1-2 weeks
@BA1: that’s where I am looking at. Growing up or in college, I wouldn’t have dared to spend $600 on a suit. So I am questioning myself if I am starting to live above my means.
Suit supply is the place to go
Just make sure any suit you buy is full or half canvas and not fused (suit supply is half canvas). This is really the mark of durability
Check out Saks Fifth Avenue suits at Saks Off Fifth. Can get great fitting suits for $200 at times.
11th state for bespoke in SF. Can run $1100+. Sometimes I have to justify the costs by thinking of it as an investment for my career. Also versus how much I wear my other clothes, the suit should be the nicest piece in your closet.
A nice suit can be bought off the racks for 300 jacket and 100 pants at Charles Tyrwhitt. Then spend about 100 on tailoring. So expect to spend about 500-600.

Haven’t bought a jacket from Charles Tyrwhitt, but have purchased some suit pants and am impressed with the quality for around $200 a pair
Go cheap until you are at your ideal playing weight/size and can afford to go bespoke, 2-5k depending on the tailor and cloth. Also no need to go crazy all at once, get them one at a time.
