What’s one small change you made in your job search that actually made a difference? For me, it was finally slowing down and tailoring my resume instead of rushing to apply to everything. It felt tedious at first, but I started getting better responses once I did. I also pushed myself to send a few direct messages instead of just clicking “apply” and hoping for the best. What ended up working for you?

I stopped applying to jobs I wasn’t actually interested in. I’m looking for a really good fit.

I like that a lot! And that’s actually the strategy I’m using too. It’s tempting to apply to everything but focusing only on roles I genuinely want makes the process feel way more intentional.

Submitting 5 applications every day before work. No hack, nothing sexy, just volume. I always have the time for it, and I find making it part of my daily routine keeps me on track vs. trying to set aside a few hours to bulk apply. Hasn't translated to an offer yet, but I'm getting more interviews now that I'm getting more applications out each week. Who would've thought?! 🙃

I kind of love the simplicity of that. No tricks, just showing up every day and putting in the reps.

Good advice, I should try that

Setting aside my discomfort and being willing to contact previous coworkers and bosses. I was putting it off because it felt pretty desperate, but I am desperate. I let everyone I could think of know that I was looking for work, and had two interviews lined up within a week.

I'm non US citizen and thinking of moving back to EU. My plan is getting remote opportunities across the world and work as a freelancer. My speciality is Data analytics and BI (Qlikview, Tableau). 1) How likely I can get a gig from the US? 2) if a job looking for a remote 2-3 months contract do they care what country I'm in? 3) how can I compete Indian rates as I'm in Europe 60-70$ per hour as a BI consultant is a good rate but I see online rates as low 10$😫?

I’m interested in pursuing cosmetic dermatology (possible Botox and laser treatment) for the first time. I’ve done a ton of research and the derm I’m most interested in going to charges a $150 consult fee but does NOT apply that cost to any treatments you get, whereas from my research it seems like derms in my city usually do apply the consult fee to the treatments. Would you pass on her due to that additional cost, or consider it worth it to see the derm you want to see?

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team. It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
