Yeah I think it also depends on the agency but I know many people that did it in 1-2 years.
At least two years. Potentially three given how well you took on the first two and accepted the new challenges.
I would never promote someone into a position unless they were already operating at that level. You get promoted once you are capable of the job, not to be paid a higher rate to get up to speed in that role.

1-1.5 as an AAE.
1-3 as an AE. Depends on if the agency has an SAE title
