Agree with the networking, just making and building on connections through the years. Something else I wish I had known is that your first job is not the end-all, be-all of everything. You’ll have so many options, just do what you have to and move on.
So very true!
I wish I hadn't been so shy when I started. I had the idea that if I kept my head down and worked away that would be enough, but I slowly realized that being more visible counts for a lot. I eventually got over my natural shyness and became more gregarious at my job, which honestly made a difference.
I was very similar. You live and you learn!

Networking helped me learn more about other teams and it’s interesting how each department does things differently.
