Joined Blind over a month ago, and what an eye opener it has been. Tech salaries are insane. Even with the recent tech pull back and layoffs, some of the comps are on a whole another level. Friends in tech say, most layoffs have involved non-engineers (sales,HR, Ops,mrktng etc). Dudes in their late 20s pulling in 350k+. Unreal.

And then I look at my TC/bonus and a sense of disappointment washes over me. Short of becoming a partner, I don't think I can pull these numbers that tech bros post up.

Anyone have any views on the funds group at Weil Gotshal in London? Considering a move there as a lateral (5th year associate so mid-senior level) but have heard that a number of junior / mid levels have left (so the group feels quite top heavy) and rumours about partners potentially not sticking around...

Just switched consulting firms and the work is a lot more interesting but man the people are really dull. Loads of events and everyone just sits around and drinks a bit. It’s the most basic conversations (weather, some sports).

Needs a big infusion of excitement and culture. People are nice enough just very bland.
