Newbie to investing and never invested in a company that went through a reverse stock split.
In theory, I understand the market value should increase but I’m not seeing this reflected in the price and naturally my book value/ share is very disappointing.
A) When should I anticipate the stock appreciation to occur?
B) What’s the next move for companies that do this? Issue more shares?
TIA!

Depends how active you want to be and what you want to invest in. If you want to pick individual stocks, nothing will beat actually learning deeply about the business, management team, strategy, competitive advantage, the financials, how they handled past crises etc. You have to do the work, start by opening up their annual report, listen to their earning calls, listen to interviews online etc. It takes a lot of work but personally I love doing it and it has helped me learn a lot of stuff about finance, strategy etc.
If you want a more passive approach, im not the best to say but many people recommend some broad ETFs, which are fine but you still need to understand where you money is actually going and what the risks are
As for resources, Wall St Journal, FT are decent places to start, Bloomberg has decent podcasts too, Acquired is a good podcast if you want to deep dive on something for 3h
