You’re comparing hindsight, if only I bought NVDA/META/APPL at pennies on the dollar, I’d be Warren buffet
Funny but true story. I was a broker making cold calls in 2008 and asking people to buy apple stock. The stock is up over 5000% (not including dividends)
Bought 40 acres parcel of rural land in Arizona for 40k and got an unsolicited offer for 300k on it a year later and sold right away. Found out later that Pulte homes planned to develop the entire area and similar lots began selling for 1mm+ a year later. Still a great investment, but if I dug deeper I would’ve waited. Was 25 at the time.
Hindsight but still great output!
Purchased a home with solar panels 😭 we have since sold the home but it really killed us finanically at the time
How did this kill you financially?
I feel like that's just about everyone who could afford to buy in 2016 but didn't
Same! My biggest regret is waiting too long to buy. I kept thinking prices would settle or drop, and now I’m priced out of areas I once could’ve afforded. Timing really is everything in real estate.
I did a major renovation and trusted the contractor to much. If I did it again id be much more vigilant
This^ - so annoyed with myself for trusting this contractor to do my basement. Could have done it half the price - for the quality he produced. Every wall is crooked with the bull nose. All tiles are crooked.
I had a chance to buy this house in a very desirable location, a huge 3 car garage house on a 2 acre lot in Long Island. The house had some water issues in the basement, which scared my wife. Fast forward 10 yrs, that house has doubled. The house i ended up buying is only up around 50%.
I should have just lied about my income/debt and bought in the early 2000's like everyone else was doing. I could've gotten into the SoCal market while condos were still in the 200's - 300's and houses were under 700.
