What’s the difference between a résumé and a CV? I know the technical difference. The CV is a snapshot in summary but what is the importance of having this over a résumé?

I always thought it was more of a location-based thing, whether you say CV or resume. Upon further research, the resume seems to be a summary, and a CV is a depth of everything you’ve done. That all said, I would think more about the context of where you are applying and what they want.

This is the first time I have seen the refrence CV

It allows you to delve further into what's on the resume. Think of the resume as essentially a table of contents that lists the high-level stuff. The CV is where you expand on what's listed there.

So is a CV geared towards researchers and academia

Oh someone commented on my post earlier asking about CV just hadn't replied yet. Maybe it was you. I actually only say CV because that's our terminology in the UK and we don't have résumés.

Same! Where I come from, a French speaking province, we use the Latin word CV (which stands for Curriculum Vitae= Life story). We never use resume: only in English speaking areas.

I’ve never included a CV it’s honestly a not needed in my experience. Most employers will not take the time to read it anyway.

I think a resume is more of a snapshot and should be short and to the point of a specific position. A CV includes more info, education, skills, achievements, etc. i think it’s more for advanced, upper mgmt executive positions. I knew vaguely of what CV was, but had to look it up and didn’t know there was such a difference. Although I think the two are used interchangeably sometimes

This is how I understand it as well. I wish they had a class in school that taught about this kind of stuff, because it can be very confusing and a lot of the information online is inconsistent! Some people say a CV is basically just a résumé and that's not entirely correct.

You usually do NOT need a CV if you’re applying for:
Private-sector jobs (business, IT, marketing, sales, admin, etc.)
Corporate roles in the US, Canada, most of Europe
Jobs that ask for a 1–2 page resume
In these cases, a resume is enough.

You DO need a CV if you’re applying for:
Academic roles (lecturer, researcher, PhD, postdoc)
Medical or healthcare positions (doctor, clinical research)
Government or international organizations
Grants, fellowships, scholarships
Jobs that specifically ask for a CV
A CV is longer and more detailed (education, publications, research, certifications

I have a masters degree. I’ve always used my résumé. However, I think it’s time to create a CV and get out there in new roles to possibly make more money.

I always thought résumé was detailed in the CV was a summary. This is good to know. Thanks everyone.

Amazon is there a certain template or format I should use for a CV

I have accepted EY IN Offer.
Now I am getting calls from EY GDS for interviews.

I am not sure if u should attend the interview or not at GDS.
When I shared this scenario with my EY IN HR, she said please don't attend it may create conflict and you may also get blacklisted.

EY GDS HR is like, you can attend the interview, there's no problem at all. We don't have such a policy. Please suggest what decision I should make.

When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.
