Predictably, Elon’s antics are running Twitter into the ground. Advertisers are down 42%. This was always a terrible move, but I think him making himself CEO and spokesperson was even worse. He could have brought in a competent person with social media experience who wasn’t controversial. If this trajectory does not change Elon will be forced to sell, or a competitor will emerge and eclipse Twitter.

This costs virtually nothing to do, and provides light humor. Humor, by the way, makes advertisements significantly more memorable as compared to other messaging approaches/tones.
Have you seen Mars advertising budget? 😂 These campaigns, in aggregate, cost hundreds of millions.

That’s exactly it OP, there’s no difference so the whole campaign revolves around humor (fake rivalries, pretending to find differences, etc.)
But it gets you thinking about the brand and eventually wanting to go buy one

PM you overthought this way too hard. The whole point of the campaign is that there is no difference but making ppl just think about it for half a sec. Also, any campaign costs millions, they didn’t do anything on this that is more expensive than it would have been otherwise.
This is it. What is the difference between this and the animated M&Ms or the weird transformation Snickers ads, nothing.
They were all the just the winning pitch by some ad agency for the multi-million dollar campaign. It will be a different ad campaign next year.
