What’s up with the creatives who post cringey stuff on LinkedIn every. Single. Day. Most of them have full time jobs. What are they after? Going viral on….LinkedIn? Or do they just think they’re the funniest person alive? Genuinely curious

I hear you, but at least for senior level creatives it’s literally become part of their job to build the agency’s profile and sadly LinkedIn, for all its grating nonsense, has become a cornerstone of that.

likesmartfunny

That’s actually the problem, AM1. They’re tasked with building a positive association to the agency and tanking it on LinkedIn.

Hot take: it’s mainly through the passive consumption of their LinkedIn feeds that many lazy marketer types actually find out about most of the advertising work that’s out there these days. If the industry doesn’t talk about the work, who will?

like

I think you guys misread the post. They’re not posting about work.

It's a circle jerk of work. People will praise an Instagram post these days. So stupid

Love this. I had the same feeling. Is there a new era of influencers from ad agencies?

I actually think these types of posts help break up the constant faux thought leadership BS. At least they’re funny/entertaining occasionally.

I can name names. I won’t, but we all could.

Eh, more people should take the piss on that platform, honestly.

The people who don’t see the value in this are the same people that want creatives to wear a silly hat to the pitch to show that they are cultured.

like

I have wondered too. Some I worked with in the past do it; trying to position themselves a "thought leaders." Get over yourself, we're all just trying to survive in this economy. It's so cringe.....

like

Eh like it or not, I know people who have gotten good jobs through it. We are all just trying to survive our here and hard to knock it if it works for them

OP, let’s not act like that’s not a reflection of the actual work we produce as creatives. A lot of the stuff we make is bad and “cringe”. Are you upset that not every post you see is tears-inducing funny?

like

OP is right. Let’s get some more lies about the strategy behind Duo Lingo, or maybe we can make Cannes recaps a year-round thing?

My last boss would make us like and comment on linkedin and ig for agency posts. It’s all theater and kind of the norm now with social media sadly.

Anybody doing it right?

George Tannebaum is about the only regular creative poster worth reading. And even he gets tiresome as the main themes can’t help but repeating.

Hello everyone, I am a senior in Aerospace Engineering from UIUC and will be graduating in 3 weeks. I have applied to over 350 positions in the aerospace, mechanical, automotive industry but my response rate is very low. I still don’t have a job offer. For context, I’m International student so a lot of the aerospace companies with govt contract can’t hire me but I applied to others as well. I’d really appreciate you taking a look at my resume and giving me feedback or refer me to any recruiters!

Suggestions on a town that is resonably close to the Boston Airport and still affordable (under $700k for a single family home), also have a kid so schools are eventually going to be important. Suggestions?? Resonably close to the airport to me is an hour or less of car/commuter ride. I am thinking we may have to travel at some scale over the next year and beyond hence the proximity to Bos Logan is important.

Hi everyone,

I created a Web API project on .Net 6 and hosted it on GitHub. But the swagger UI page is not loading.

Does anyone have any ideas to resolve this issue?

I tried to find the solution but couldn't get it.

I enabled the CORS policy and also added code for the production environment.

Please help.

Had a real estate agent help me for the past 2 months but my parents urged me to use another real estate agent who would give me half of their commission from the sale so it can help me on closing costs. I've gotten the Deloitte D launch orientation survey. Me start date is on the 16th (less than 2 weeks). I've emailed BI onboarding twice, called my recruiter asking if they are ok with background/employment verification check and I've not gotten a response. I need to put in my 2 week notice and all my recuiter has said is I can push your start date out. Has anyone been thru this ? Does getting the D launch orientation email imply everything is good with background/employment checks

How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out.
