A used mac
prob lenovo thinkpad. $900 isn’t a lot though.
MacBook Air is on sale for $900 on amazon
Surface pro 8 with an i5 and 256g storage would come for 800-850. Packs a punch.
Pros - Full fledged PC in the semi-tablet form factor. Still very very portable, especially as a 2nd computer in your bag. Great display & camera. Gets the odd job done.
Cons - Might not be as lappable as conventional laptop. Keyboard though really good, takes some getting used to. You might have to carry a dongle if you connect to displays/use too many ports.
I would recommend the 8 simply because you have flexibility with the ports and can charge via usb-c. Also 10th Gen i5 would be equivalent to 8th Gen i7.
Sorry it has to be a Mac
Microsoft surface laptop
Yea I don’t see why not! Especially since it’s cheaper
What would you be using it for? Would a Chromebook or similar cut it?
Would like to have the same capabilities and capacity as my work laptop. I would be using it to do the same type of stuff.
You can get a slightly old refurbished thinkpad that performs really well for ~$300
LG gram
I’d probably have to say a Mac.
T490 Lenovo, home laptops are not designed to be rugged like businesses laptops

Dell Inspiron, I got mine from the MS Signature store (now defunct) in 2016 and it think if the hardware holds up (i have dropped it a few times) I will be able to use it for at least 3 more years. I do a lot of python, c, and java coding on it. I am not into video games so that was never a factor for me
Thoughts on purchasing refurbished laptops?
No. I had bad experience
