Overworked is worse.
That’s a good question and never thought about it. I think you should negotiate highest (both salary and work life balance) then see where it goes from there!

If they are important to you, then you should negotiate for them.
Just be prepared for pushback. Right now, labor does not have the influence it held during COVID in terms of negotiating. Way more people vying for jobs now and as a result employers are able to cherry pick for less offerings.
Being overworked sucks try doing a manual labor job like construction or a warehouse while trying to care for an elderly mom or other family member it sucks on your body in the long run. I think work life balance is more important we all need money but taking care of others and yourself is more important.
I think it is a full pack negotiation. Higher salary should not mean more hours. CEOs would have zero time for family or showers. They charge much because with their skillset, they should be able to deliver more value to the business on each hour. Obviously, the higher up you go the higher the commitment. But no one can be more productive slaving themselves.
The load of work will depend on what other resources will they give you and scope of work. Ask who had your role previously if it was 3 people, it gives you an idea…
This is a salary position, which means that corporations can work you as much as they want to without giving you more money. So, if you want both work life balance and a decent wage, you should be an hourly employee. This way you will probably come close to getting the pay that you want, and if the company sticks you with overtime, which will probably not happen to often because they will have to pay you for it, you will get the pay and some decent days off
