When an interviewer asks when I can start, do you think it's a turn off for them if I say I can start right away? I've been out of work for five weeks, I'm ready to start a new job now.

Can a company find out if you start to work for another company? Also, is it really a conflict of interest if you work for both companies in the same position, but the companies are in a different field (e.g. pharmaceutical and social media)?
