This is such a frustrating situation, but when someone who reports to you oversteps repeatedly, it’s time to escalate IMO. Document the behavior and bring it up with a manager as a need for role clarity. Keep it professional and focus on project efficiency, like ensuring you're not duplicating projects and such.

That's irritating I'm sure. Have you attempted DIRECT resolution with her? I mean just telling her flat-out that you are colleagues and she's not your manager. Sounds harsh, but seems necessary in this situation. You can loop your manager in to clarify roles and then have a conversation with the bossy colleague if you wanna come in with some solid direction.

Start documenting everything in writing. Email for clarification, and that way when she’s insubordinate you have a paper trail for next steps.
