When someone has a gap (up to 6 months) between a big law job and their first in house application, do you assume they were laid off? Would you advise a candidate to actively share why they took a break, if it wasn’t a lay off?

What are everyone's thoughts on resume services/coaching? I am a leader/exec that was laid off (first time) and have spent over 15 years in various roles such SVP Operations, Senior Director Product, VP Solutions, etc. at different companies.

How am I expected to bill 1900 hours when I only have 8 cases and when I ask for work no one responds. I even asked the partner in person for work and he said he was slow and didn’t have anything for me.This month I’ve only billed 80 hrs. I'm a data analyst(SQL, Python, ETL, Viz) with 6.5yrs exp at LTI(1 Month exp).
I left PWC AC after 6 months of joining because of the nature of dabba work I was getting(80% testing/documentation, 20% technical). Worked for 12+ hrs everyday and wanted to have some wlb.

Now in LTI, life is too peaceful and there's no technical work in current project. I'm getting thoughts like I'm wasting my skills by taking less tech projects at this stage of career.

It's freezing tonight bitter cold. I just ordered Chinese and I'm not sure if that was a shitty thing to do. I think they need to make money so if no one calls that wouldn't be good. I did tip well
