find a routine (like literally a fitness routine, breakfast, go for walks) and don't burn yourself out.
Just try and network your ass off to create a network. Get in front of CDs and senior creatives, ask them to review your book. Most people won’t have an issue giving you advice and if they like you, they’ll think of you when a job opens up.
Take any opportunity you can to talk to anyone at agencies: going out to advertising mixers, signing up for industry talks, joining a network of creatives who meet up every couple months (most cities have a few of these), reach out to production houses and see if they have any summer parties happening.
And also continue working on your book! If you aren’t totally happy with it, as a junior you have every right to put spec work in there. So make the type of work you want to do and where your skills and ideas shine the brightest!
Book reviews are a way into building a relationship! Especially if you can follow through with some of their feedback. If someone is willing to give you that time it’s because they themselves likely received help as a junior in the same way. Don’t ever feel like you’re wasting someone’s time!
