Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. Based on some research around Boston and my role in the company, I feel 165k plus 10-15% bonus is fair. Nonetheless, first time going through something like this and asking for thoughts and comments. I am in a period of growth in my role (in house and getting more exposure to top management) - im grateful for it but I also have constant anxiety during and after work hours. Does anyone who’s been in a similar position have tips for riding this wave? Hoping it’ll get easier.

I’m currently at a studio that has been good to me. They took a chance and allowed me to change career paths. They gave me numerous opportunities that lead me to now, being the head of a department. The big guys at the top has expressed they could see me as the guy to run the company one day but it’s all talk and possibilities right now. I’ll have to wait for now. On the other hand, I have an offer in hand from a much bigger company to be part of their business development. Any advice?
