Citibank, Slalom, Microsoft - lots of tech co’s. It’s a negotiable thing, so if you’re looking to start a new job while pregnant, before accepting an offer, speak with their HR to review their leave policy before accepting. Be careful though, you don’t owe it to anyone to disclose you are pregnant if so.
However… that’s just speaking on short term disability. Most companies do require a year because they want to make sure you’re committed, but ST disability is also something that can be paid into partially by employees (contributory), depending on the state or employer benefits.
Separately, FMLA law requires you work there for a year for job protection. So while you might still get short term disability before one year, which only gets you 6-8 weeks, you won’t have job security to return to your position or equivalent before one year.
I’m in Pharma and was able to take fully paid parental leave before my one year mark after my son was born. Multiple other teammates did the same thing. At the year mark I was able to use FMLA and NJFLI as well so my pay was split between the state leave pay and my company to make up full pay once I was eligible for those governmental benefits.
Nj pharma too and everyone is eligible for full parental leave starting on day 1. Full pay for 14 weeks starting day 1!
