Hi Everyone! I am looking for advice. I was one of the individuals that was laid off from WE during the restructuring. I was a PM for the Chat and Chatbot team at WW. I am a recent graduate from Ivey Business School, I have my MSc in Management. In addition, a specialization in Digital Management. After working 2 years at a coordinator level, I was able to land a specialist level position at a different start up. I'll be starting in the coming weeks, and will be going into a new company, with a (much bigger) new team, and new duties, very similar to that of a project manager. Needless to say, I'm very anxious - I'm the first to fill this position and I feel like expectations are high. I passed the interview with flying colours, but I can't help but feel imposter syndrome. There are far too many posts asking for the quickest and cleanest paths to 500k+ salaries as Partners and/or work at FAANG/PE in this bowl. We should be encouraging people to take risks, start companies/join early stage ventures, and actually impact the world—not spend their careers making slide decks and avoiding the fray. Consulting is great for exposing people to lots of fields and problems, but I would be ashamed to still be a consultant beyond 3-5 years.
