Funny enough, I’ve connected with people on here and gotten gigs that way. Years ago, but hey it worked a few times.
I wouldn’t call we are a Rosie a community at all. Based on how ridiculously low their rates are, I think they’re just a creative circle type company pretending to be a “community” …
You might have better luck cold emailing/messaging prospective clients and offering to perform services as an independent contractor. Or apply to 1099 roles on LinkedIn or other traditional job boards.
They all suck. WeAreRosie is a third-party staffing agency.. it’s not a community at all.
Working Not Working has been bought out by FIVERR. Do you really think they care about freelancers?
Almost next to no work on Working Not Working these days, it used to be great but since 2020-ish poo poos.
I’ve had luck with We Are Rosie although I agree about the rates. This comes with the territory of all staffing agencies.
They’ve done a good job of providing resources whether you’re booked or not. When I was hesitant about an employer’s integrity they were quick to flag the company’s posting rather than sweeping it under the rug.
They aren’t a community. They are a staffing agency. They are one of the nice ones. But they still take at least 30% of your paycheck. Repeat: they are not a community for freelancers.. they disguise themselves (their slack channel/website) as that.. but they are simply a staging agency.
Creative circle, Solomon page, etc WILL take +50% of your paycheck.
