I work with a bunch of 65 years olds and none of them were remotely concerned. The younger people were the most concerned. I said I was working from home and they only followed my lead when the Bay Area said don’t go to work idiots.

You would think. But it seems like you’re using logic. Logic is not standard feature in Americans these days. And since cheap Chinese goods taught us that the cheapest way is the best, no parent has paid for the logic upgrade in a long time.
People are not going to take this seriously until someone they know has the disease. When that happens it is likely that they too have the disease.
The global death rate is 4%, Italy death rate is 8%. I would much rather be in the 4%. (Obviously I’d prefer 0% but even that ship has sailed here.)
