People hate ITP? That's news to me. In my friend group we all hate OTP 🤷🏼♀️

Same😂everyone I work with though is OTP so I hear all the ITP slander
They are irrelevant so idk if they do or don’t. They don’t live in Atlanta so who cares.
Also the new ITP is ITB - inside the beltline. Sorry Becca from Brookhaven, you also live in the suburbs.

😂😂😂Becca from Brookhaven has me screaming. Love the change to ITB ngl
Objectively there are many better cities in the US than ATL, but the burbs are pretty hard to beat (Alpharetta, Suwanee, Marietta).
There are only 1-2 truly livable and walkable neighborhoods ITP, rest are Gotham. That’s prob why so many are drawn towards OTP
I wouldn’t be requesting a pay bump - I already work in NYC and get paid an NYC salary but work 50% remote. I would be accepting another job in NYC that would pay me 30%+ more but require me to live in NYC 100% (which I won’t do).
And I take it you aren’t very familiar with intown Atlanta real estate because $1M+ single-family homes are very routine in most of those neighborhoods I mentioned. A house in most of the White Plains areas would be CHEAPER than an equivalent in my intown Atlanta neighborhood (Morningside) and in roughly the same range as Scarsdale. $1M would get you something small, without a garage and/or in need of major renovations, an up-to-date White Plains sized house (4000+ sq ft) is ~$2M+ on a smaller 1/4 acre lot or $3Mish+ on a good 1/2 acre lot and a White Plains sized 1 acre lot basically doesn’t exist because a decent 1 acre lot would likely be $1.5Mish just for the land.
I really don't know either. I feel like it's as charming as any city I've ever lived in, without question. And I've been in cities my whole life. i'm a fan through and through

I think it really comes down to us being “city folk” haha I love it here and really any actual city I’ve lived in. The burbs are not for me
lol.. the ITP parking lots, restaurant reservations and housing prices don’t match that sentiment at all. Every time I bike on the Beltline I have to navigate groups of oblivious people from Kennesaw/Alpharetta/Roswell walking 8 across, mesmerized by tall buildings

Its so annoying😭I stopped going outside from Friday 5pm-Sunday @ Noon.
BUT the OTPers love coming to the city causing a overflow of people but swear its HORRIBLE to live in. Personally I wish we had tolls for coming into the city.
I lived ITP and now I'm OTP - I think it's because OTP people are always driving on the highway into the city, so they just associate it with bad traffic. When I lived within the city, it was obviously much easier to drive through all the neighborhoods and I even enjoyed some walkability. I'm always trying to tell people that actually living in Atlanta means you don't have to be stuck on 75 for an hour (I mean, depending on where you live/work ofc).
Crazy thing is.. traffic OTP is WORSE than ITP. It takes me 15-20 mins to get basically anywhere worth going in the city from my ITP house. I’ve heard people in Cobb County talk about driving 40 minutes just to get to the Sandy Springs Park and Ride to MARTA into the city.
People will find a way to be afraid of any city with more crime and a lower median income than their own.
You’ll meet people from Peachtree City who will swear that Fayetteville isn’t a good place to raise a family.
