It may be due to lack of knowledge, I think that many people who say they don't like it is due to lack of real knowledge in the area.
there isn't a reason for it to be that competitive from an employee standpoint : low salary for entry level, lower salaries overall compared to easier fields, rough hours, tough career ladder, extreme company pressure for being at the end of the supply chain. hard to obtain skills/knowledge that is not transferrable. Obviously there's exceptions to the above but for the most part it is true.
Logistics can be highly demanding and requires long hours and hard work with little reward or recognition. Many people don’t know enough about the profession to appreciate its value.
I think more organizations are beginning to recognize the potential of this industry and understand that quality logistics professionals can make a real difference in their businesses.
After 2020 and the pandemic, many people saw the wrong side of logistics and supply chain management and didn't want to work there to avoid an emergency or another global issue.
