We don't utilize the platform, so it won't have any impact on us. I think it might slow the spread of both, but only temporarily. Those users will migrate to other platforms. That, coupled with Meta's removal of fact checkers, makes me think misinformation will continue to flow freely.
We have spread out on many different platforms, so our strategy doesn’t change much. Especially because anything we would post on tiktok could easily be on the others too. I believe most have migrated to be in different places, shouldn’t put all the eggs in one basket. I don’t see it having any impact on information or misinformation. The internet still exists and that will always be out there.
Not really because like many others we hadn't really been utilizing the platform much. Aside from that I really think this ban is very temporary and I doubt it will even last a week. I think Trump will get in office and do something to make sure it is back up on Tuesday.
The time cost for creating TikTok content never added up for all companies. You have to have a certain-sized marketing budget to allow for an individual or team to constantly brainstorm, create and execute. I think for certain companies and products, TikTok definitely helped them cut through the clutter and drive business and eyeballs their way, but just as often as not I’ve heard of diminishing returns, fatigue and burnout (by the creative team tasked with churning out content), and negligible results. This stop (or more likely, pause) might give some marketing teams time to rethink strategy, or to examine what kind of impact is made when TikTok drives (or continues to drive, in some cases) no businesses to them at all.
