With coding not being a moat, how does hiring space for data scientists is changing? I am interested to know because I have a PhD in Civil Engineering and although not a proficient programmer but I can easily work around using code from LLMs, I also have strong business understanding. Any thoughts or advice is highly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Due to a mix of circumstance, hikes / job moves, i’ve 2x my salary over the last year.
However, regardless of much i earn, it feels as if i will never feel rich or save enough in a place like London. Crazy constantly increasing taxes, sky rocketing rents and early saturation in salaries. Is UK the right place to be or is it the same everywhere.

Thoughts about Eagle Hill Consulting?

How do you feel about splitting everything 50-50 with your partner? I don’t feel as rigid about it bc I feel it balances out one way or another, but my partner feels as if he owes me if we don’t split 50-50 and I pay more. I get where he’s coming from but 50-50 just feels transactional and not intimate.
For context: I make 3x more than he does and he’s still finishing his medical fellowship, so I don’t feel it’s a matter of feeling less than.

Will it be a negative if we don’t use the full 10 minutes for the Accenture technology showcase? I’m clocking in close to 7 minutes.

So engineers can now automate the writing of basic code, and potentially more complex tasks, by using GPT-3.

For those who are technical: If machines can write code, how are you going to upskill? And what are the best ways make yourself indispensable?

I am not embracing the notion that you shouldn't have to code to do data science. However, I think coding may soon be much less of a competitive advantage.
