Work me: organized, calm, helpful. Off-duty me: needs a nap and zero conversation 😅. Anyone else living this double life?

This is absolutely me. I’m very outgoing at work, but once I get home, I don’t have the energy to talk to anyone. Sometimes I’ll sit quietly and stare at the wall for 30 minutes just to decompress. Working in healthcare really takes it out of you

Yeah the downtime issue is an issue.
From a neurological research stand point in psychology when I am relaxed and non stressed I have a greater tendency to synaptogenesis.
Which means I can connect two ideas and learn and theorize quicker.
When my mind is stressed I don't want to examine scientific theory, I don't want to learn, and I have greater difficulty reaching the connections in theory that create intelligence.
This synaptogenesis is the basis of learning and theory.
Imagine you have two boxes. One is a known. The other is an unknown concept in your mind. The neurological microscopy "reaches" to try to compare a known to an unknown in order to theorize or to understand a new concept.
When my mind buzzes all day with stress this becomes more difficult.
I don't know if the solution is nutritional or related to oxygen consumption by microscopic components but the issue of learning and stress is most definitely an avenue to exam.

This is the plight of the middle class. They have been taught that work is their life and life is work. This puts you into a life of basic servitude to the bill collectors.
Once you advance beyond middle management they teach you stuff like music, art, and athletics.
They teach that it's okay to have a personal life, and that you are not a servant.
You should take up a hobby, like painting or music just so you can't be boxed in with the servants.

Looking at it from this angle is actually very interesting. Some sort of hobby might be a good way to go🤷‍♀️

That is so me right now. We need that peace in order to be ready at the job

Absolutely! Gotta reset somehow 😅

Basically all of my time outside of work is dedicated towards chores and recovering from work so I'm ready for the next work day. There isn't much time left these days for actually enjoying life.

I understand that. It feels nice to take a day to just relax but then trying to catch up again is sooo stressful for me!

That’s me !!

I think we can all relate on some level😂

I currently make 78k at Lockheed but I’m not doing what I’d like to be doing and i felt stuck and after many conversations with my manager and no solution in sight, I started applying elsewhere. I just recently got an offer from a smaller AI company for 95k that I plan to accept. I’m happy to make the jump, I just don’t know how my manager/coworkers will react when I tell them I’m leaving.

I woke up today tired.

My work cell was buzzing and then I remembered something.

I forgot to thank the bus driver that dropped me off a few days ago.

I got up and rushed downstairs to find the bus driver.

It was raining outside but I was already running barefoot to the bus stop.

I stood there soaked in my pajamas as the bus approached.

Then, the door opened. The driver got up and shook my hand.

I sat down and started my shift.

I’m the bus driver. Reminder to love and thank yourself.
