Would you prefer to work for commission or for a direct salary with a small bonus? Currently have an offer for a 3% commission on deals or a 35k increase in salary from 160k. Based on sales targets, the numbers should be close to even so is it worth risking the market being tough to make sales?

I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked).
