Is it hardiplank or vinyl siding? Hardiplank is phenomenal. Vinyl not so much
Brick gets super hot in the summer and it lets moisture in, esp on those older builds

Ah, as far as looks go that’s completely up to you! Hardie plank (thanks for reminding how it’s spelled!) is very durable. Far more than vinyl
I personally prefer the plank because of the heat that the brick absorbs in the summer and how much it contributes to my electric bill. However, you’re right, the brick does make a more stately appearance
All of that said, I bet the new build neighborhood looks better over all, so that’s something to consider as well

Fixer upper because you will want to change things regardless and it’s usually better to have room for house improvement renovations then paying the premium for new construction and then putting more money into it
