That's not what it implies actually, it implies that the general electorate has an antisemitism problem.

OP- Steve Scalise, who the GOP nearly put up for Speaker of the House, referred to himself as “David Duke without the baggage”.
But while you’re pretending him, Gosar, MTG, Gohmert and the like don’t exist, and if they did they would be shunned… leaders from the left actually did condemn this- Harris, Buttigieg, Jeffries, and more.
While the article talks more about the general population, as a Jewish Democrat, it is very clear that there is a rise in antisemitism on the left.
I’ve talked about the reaction to John King‘s comments with a bunch of my friends, and virtually every single Jewish person I spoke with has the exact same perception as him. To not acknowledge that there would be a portion of the Democratic Party who would react negatively to at worst, or at best, just not show up to vote for, a ticket with a possible Jewish first gentleman and then a Jewish vice president is sticking their head in the sand and not acknowledging the reality of America today. That doesn’t in any way minimize antisemitism that has existed for so many years on the right, but to deny its existence and increasing presence on the left is willful ignorance.
Not easy to answer that - at least in the Trump world of Republicanism, they are not always shunned. “Good people on both sides”, etc. And there is not much disavowing going on as people react to Kamala in racist ways or JD Vance’s wife not being white. So I don’t think the shunning is strong.
I also think many on the left have been very weak in naming antisemitism where it’s showing up on their side. I haven’t quite figured out where I stand on the anti-Zionism is antisemitism assertion - a huge chunk of anti-Israeli messaging is definitively antisemitic when you read what people are saying, images they’re posting, etc., but I absolutely think it’s okay for people to criticize Israel and policies they implemented and actions they have taken. Criticizing the Israeli govt intelligently and based on facts is not antisemitic, but saying Israel has no right to exist or anything about “all Jews” because you’re pissed at Netanyahu is. In any case, plenty of people on the left have gone WAY over the line of antisemitism, and it must be called out more.
If you were capable of reading the actual quote, you'd see that King was talking about the general electorate.
And to King's point, remind me which political candidate these people supported?
Don't forget the Soros conspiracy theories and the space lasers

Some people don’t like it when you point out racism exists
A percentage of registered voters would prefer to have a government that is not blindly pro-Israel, and having a Jewish VP probably wouldn't support that and potentially alienate those voters.
I think Shapiro would be fine, although personally, I believe Kelly has better name recognition and appeal.
I wonder why

Democrats have a Willie brown problem too
…you guys do realize CNN was bought out by a conservative media conglomerate a year or so ago right? So CNN is not necessarily the “arbiter of the left”. If anything it’s more centrist currently.
So no…it’s not surprising CNN has this stance.
